Deforestation or depletion of the forest on earth is the biggest challenge for human existence. The world in the name of advancement is ignoring the climatic imbalances that have risen due to such actions.
All the countries are in a race, some are focusing on the constant development of varied ways to a more luxurious life, while some others are investing to increase the standard of living of their people and there are some who do not concern with its people buther are focused on seeming all powerful to others.
Is this what we can call progress, or development? I don’t think so.
The real progress will be made by taking the nature into the equation, to move forward by creating a balance between our actions and nature’s boundaries. If not, then we are paving way for our own destruction because nature is governed by the laws of universe, unlike us humans who have always acted selfishly. We think of none but ourselves. This has to stop.
The slogan, ‘Vasudhaiv Kutumbakam’ meaning One Earth One Family One Future was emphasised by Indian Prime Minister Mr. Narender Modi at the G20 Summit under India's Presidency. It was unanimously approved by all the G20 members. Although agreed by all, ‘Vasudhaiv Kutumbakam’ can only be achieved by rigorous efforts on our part because right now we are all divided in the name of different countries, some people don’t even look beyond their own families. There is a long way to go but surely there is a way and we all need ro tread on it to succeed, it has to be a combined effort.
It is imperative in today’s world that emphasis must be laid on the nature based solutions for the restoration of balance among exology, society, and climate. In this endeavour the forest landscape restoration will plays the most important part.
